Chief Executive Officer

Ted is the founder of RRL and developed a deep understanding of rail operations during his eight- year tenure at Transnet Freight Rail where he managed the coal terminals, mining sector and cement sector. He has used his experience in Rail and Logistics related services in the successful development of this company.

 

 

 

 

 

Thys Warricker

Commercial Director

Thys comes from an Auditing and Accounting background and has been involved with RRL from just after inception thus giving him a good understanding of the business and industry. During his accounting days his clients included other players within the transport industry.

 

 

 

 

 

Stephen Smithyman

Financial Director

Bcom, CA(SA)

Stephen recently joined RRL Grindrod and was previously with Standard Bank where he specialised in Leverage Finance. Stephen is a chartered accountant and completed his articles at Deloitte and Touche.

 

 

 

 

Jannie Bouwer
Operations Director

Jannie Bouwer has 15 years experience in the rail industry. He started his career with the then department of SAR&H. He spent 10 years at the railways working at Koedoespoort's diesel depot as a qualified artisan and later after receiving his engineering diploma in mechanical engineering he worked at railway head office on various locomotive engineering projects. He moved on to UCW as the regional service engineer. He left UCW after two years to become a partner in a company that serviced the rail industry. He brings with him a wealth of experience in all aspects of railways.
